This idea just does not seem to be feasible. I myself couldn’t live without seeing the latest episode of Lost.

The second thing we could try is to organize a national TV strike. If for one whole week everybody could just stop watching TV all together. Just unplug your nice big TV set and let it collect dust and put the remote in a safe place so it will be easy to find in one week. This option does seem like it would be fairly difficult though. It would be hard to get everybody to keep off the couch and away from the temptation. I could see TiVO sales going through the roof as everybody rushes to buy one so they don’t miss a whole weeks worth of soaps or their favorite sitcom. This idea would work but it would be near impossible to get a very large quantity of people to follow through.

The third thing people could do to stand up against these greedy corporations is to simply quit paying them for their services. In stead they use something like Satellite TV Pro. First off when using any peer to peer software I strongly recommend using a program like Peer Guardian. This software gathers a large list of computers you many not want to have access your PC (RIAA, MPAA etc.) and blocks them from connecting to your PC (to browse your shared files, see what you are downloading/uploading etc). It isn’t a 100% safe of course, as the lag between them changing there IP and PeerGuardian updating to block it would allow them time to theoretically connect to your PC if they really needed to, also not every single “anti-p2p” IP is known, so it does not leave you completely safe either way. However, for most P2P users it is still well worth having providing you update often. It does however slow down your PC when it is running, so I would suggest disabling it to start automatically with windows and run it only when you have P2P applications running.

Second off join a private peer to peer software group. This highly reduces the risk of getting files that have trojans, spyware, adware, or viruses in them. It is still possible but a lot less likely. You are also a lot less likely to be caught downloading something you shouldn’t since it is a private group and not just everybody access it. Overall these groups are the closest thing you will ever see to safe havens for peer to peer software users. I recommend iMP3Download because of it’s massive amount of files. WE'RE NOT THE only ones who believe Microsoft have been
tinkering around with the idea of a portable Xbox. Over at Team Xbox it seems they've been exploring the idea of a
Microsoft PSP/DS competitor too.

An in-depth article is coupled with a gorgeous mock-up, which looks
like a DS coupled with a PDA keyboard and some 'my-first-console'
colour scheming. We think that if the device was ever unveiled, it's
doubtful a keyboard would exist on the launch product - Microsoft
would be concerned with keeping the console specific to gaming. A
touch screen would be more likely, considering the success of the DS
and Apple's newly previous

Custom high spec parts will cause their own problems. Similar to the
Zune's problematic pricing (The Zune is coming in at $100 more than a
similar spec'd 30gb iPod), the portable Xbox would struggle to find a
competitive price point considering the established competition in the
Sony PSP ($199) and the Nintendo DS ($129). Economies of scale come
in to significant play, and for such a late arrival, Microsoft would

The book by Mario Puzo and classic film by Paramount Pictures serve as inspiration for the game as gamers will join the Corleone family and earn respect through loyalty and fear as they rise through the ranks to become Don in a living 1945-1955 New York. The game is scheduled for release in fall 2005 under the EA GAMES brand for the Xbox videogame system from Microsoft, PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, Sony PSP handheld entertainment system and PC.
Gamers will create their own mob character in the game, putting themselves into the action while reliving classic moments from the fiction and experiencing original missions alongside memorable characters from the film. I have to admit that it looks really damn good for a PSP game. I am still amazed at how good portable games are looking.

It seems to use the GTA engine since it resembles it alot ad it would make more sense to just utilize what is out there already. All in all I would have to say that I would get it.

WITH LESS THAN TWO months to go until the release of Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogyon September 15, the teams at LucasArts, TT Games and developerTraveller's Tales are continuing to offer insight regarding thedevelopment of this tongue-in-cheek romp through the Star Wars galaxy.Now that the Episode V The Empire Strikes Back portion of thegame with its six unique movie-based levels is nearly complete, whatscenes did they most enjoy giving fans the chance to build and battletheir ways through?
"The Battle of Hoth isa huge blast of spectacle and action to kick-start the movie, and itwas an absolute joy to bring this vast battle to life in Lego," saysJonathan Smith, director at TT Games Publishing. "The AT-ATs had amassive impact on me when I first saw the film as a child, and theirexisting Lego toy models – as well as the AT-STs and of course thesnowspeeder – are just so cool. Vivendi issued a release the other day to let us know that Scarface: Money. Power. Respect. was coming to the PlayStation Portable. Oh, and that previously announced Xbox 360 version? Nixed. With the recent news that The Sopranos will also not make an appearance on Microsoft's next-gen console, that means gamers looking for a Hollywood gangster fix are going to have to settle for The Godfather. Ouch.

The PSP version will be a distinct product, not a port of the PS2/Xbox/PC version, integrating RTS and action styles of gameplay and featuring 4-player Wi-Fi support.

No word on why the Xbox 360 version has been canned, but one look at Tony Montana's shoes tearing through his polygonal polyester pants in the above shot and you'll probably be thankful. Hideous!

Scarface Skips 360, Goes To PSP - Kotaku

Ha ha Microsoft just got the shaft. Who can really blame the makers of Scarface though. All Sony products sell more. The XBox 360 may be alot more powerful but there is just not enough demand for 360 games.

However taking the game to the PSP is a big downgrade on the graphical asspect of the game. I would really like to see it realeased for the PS2 and PS3 when it comes out.

Without a library of hugely-successful titles -- at least when compared to other systems -- and the near death of the UMD movie format, is it time we all just gave up on the PSP ever being a viable gaming platform?

Well, Gameworld sure does make some convincing arguments. Here are just a couple:

To date there are currently only three PSP titles that have sold over one million units. They include Grand Theft Auto: Liberty Stories with 2.84 million, Ridge Racer with 1.04 million, and Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee at 1 million.

... the DS Lite shines brighter in every aspect, and finally gamers budgets are going to be very strained over the course of the next ten months at least as we all rush to buy the Wii, PS3, or an Xbox 360.

We all have our own personal gripes about the system, with problems ranging from exceedingly long load times to just poor control schemes on lazy ports. The question is, will there ever be a game on the PSP that you just have to have? Is Loco Roco really the answer for a system that can't seem to catch on with the masses -- at least compared to its cheaper competitors -- or is it forever doomed to lay waste in mediocrity?

I can sort of understand this persons perspective a little bit. Well not really. I am sure the PSP is not close to being phased out. XBOX wont have its portable out for at least a year with how they release things. Its one and only compeditor right now is the Nintendo DS and it still sure the hell does not stand up to the PSP. Dont know what the hell this guy is thinking.

Greatest Hits Pack To Be Released For The PSP Next Week

Sony is planing on releasing a greatest hits pack for the PSP next week. In my opinion this is happening quite soon. The PSP really has not been out for all that long and I am sure we have not came close to seeing what it all has to offer.

But none the less against my better judgment Sony will release this package on July 25th. It will contain Hot Shots Golf, ATV Offroad Fury, Wipeout Pure, Ape Escape, Twisted Metal, Midnight Club 3, Harry Potter & The Goblet OF Fire, and Star Wars Battlefront 2. You will get all of these games for the low low price of only $19.99.

-Copy 4 folders that can be found on both (3 if you want to keep the Jap voices), the files are identical so replacing the folders found in the English version works in the Japanese version.
-Rebuild the your newly modified iso with UMD Gen
-The Japanese version doesn't require any modification or MPH loader(as listed above) so just use any of the 3 loaders to play it.

Is it just me or does Sony kind of encourage piracy? I know what you are all thinking. Ok he lost it. Why the hell would Sony promote piracy of there software. But hold on just a minute. Lets look at this from my point of view.

First off the Playstation series is usally the quickest and easiest console to use burned games on. Unlike Nintendo whos Gamecube runs off of mini DVD's with there own special incription and compression. It is about as close as any console manufacture has came to proventing this.

What is the most common thing done with these wonderful little memory sticks you use in your PSP? You guessed it, playing copied games. By Sony releasing this they are basically helping you store more games on you memory stick and therefor making piracy more desiarable.

Sony Computer Entertainment, attempting to advertise its PlayStation Portable video game in The Netherlands, is facing racism complaints. Sony's ads were intended only to emphasize the color contrast between the existing black PSP and the new ceramic white PSP. Sony has removed the billboards and apologized.

Xbox Goes Hand Held. What Will Microsoft Try To Do Next?

Rumours are strengthening that Microsoft is developing a portable entertainment device that will play digital music, video and games.

Competing with Apple's iPod, Sony's PSP and Nintendo's DS and Game Boy products would represent a huge challenge even for Bill's behemoth, but would seem inevitable given Microsoft's determination to dominate the games industry.

When Screen Play last year asked Microsoft Vice President J Allard, who oversaw the design of the Xbox 360, whether he was tempted to make the 360's removable hard drive a portable music player to compete with iPod, he responded: "Boy it's tempting, isn't it? It is tempting. Who knows, maybe someday?"

The Seattle Times is reporting that J Allard is overseeing the "Argos" portable project which will leverage the Xbox brand.

It is about time that the Microsoft giant takes a look into this. Lets face it they have the money to do whatever they want. I for one am not a big Microsoft fan. I like what Bill Gates is planning on doing but dont really like how they have a monopolization on the OS market. Secrets Of The PSP Guru’s: Downgrading Your PSP

This article will help you downgrade you r PSP from v2.0 to v 1.5.

I can say from first hand knowledge that this method has been known to be perfectly safe and work well if you follow the directions. Downgrading from 2.0 to 1.5

The following three files are necessary...

MPH Downgrader

1.50 Update EBOOT

2.0 Update EBOOT

You will need to upgrade to 2.0 first, if you're using 1.51 or 1.52. Also note that many antivirus scanners will incorrectly detect the downgrader as a virus. You can see here it is 100% safe to use.

Remember this will ONLY WORK on a PSP with firmware V2.0.

You need to unzip the files MPHDowngrader.zip and EBOOT_1.50.zip. Use a program such as WinRAR, 7Zip, or WinZip (check Google). Once they are unzipped, you're ready to start the process.
Connect your PSP to your computer via the USB cable.
Once the connection is set up, open up My Computer and browse to the removable disk that is your PSP. There will be a few things we will have to setup here.
Go ahead and double click on that to open up your PSP on your computer, you'll be in what's called the root menu. There will be a PSP folder showing if you are in the right place.
Copy the following files over to this root directory. Make sure it is in THIS location IN the ROOT folder...NOT in the PSP folder or any other folder. Index.dat and h.bin should both be put into your root directory.
Once this is done, open up the PSP folder and then open up the Photo folder. Here, you will copy over overflow.tif file, but make sure you keep it in the Photo directory and not a sub directory.
Now, go back to the PSP directory and this time go into the Game directory. If there is not one already there, create a folder called UPDATE. It MUST be called UPDATE and nothing else.
Open up the new UPDATE folder you just made and then copy EBOOT.PBP into this folder from your computer. Once all of this is done, you're ready to start downgrading. So far, so good.

This is vital! Double check that you followed the above instructions to the letter before continuing.

Good now you can continue.

Disconnect the USB connection from the computer and plug the AC adapter into your PSP. As with all upgrades, you must have a certain percentage of battery life as well as the AC adapter plugged in, or this will not work properly.
Now go to the Photo icon on your PSP and scroll through the pictures to get to overflow.tif. You do NOT have to press anything. It will start automatically. Two strings of letters/numbers will appear. This is normal and good.
Wait AT LEAST 30 SECONDS and then turn off your PSP by holding the power button up until it fully shuts down. Then, go ahead and start your PSP up again.
Now you will now have to go over to the Game icon and scroll down to memory stick. Select this and you should see the 1.5 update.
Go and select it and start it up. Go through it as you've done before with your 2.0 update and follow the prompts. When the update reaches 99% it will crash and show an error. THIS IS OKAY. DO NOT PANIC. Once again press the power switch up until it fully turns off.
Now, turn the PSP back on. You will get another error. Just press the "O" button and it will restart after rebuilding the system data. Then just set it up as you did when you first got your PSP and you have a brand new 1.5 PSP. Be responsible with it and don’t abuse it.
